Walking Group Volunteer:

Silver Threads Service is looking for a volunteer to lead a weekly walking group on nearby roads and trails.

Duties include: Leading a group of seniors on local walks. Current First Aid / CPR certificates desirable.

Days: Wednesdays

Time: 10:00am – 11:00am

Location: Starting at Saanich Centre, 286 Hampton Road

Memory PLUS Volunteer

Silver Threads Service is looking for a volunteer to assist the facilitator of Memory PLUS (Practice, Laughter, Useful Strategies) – a program designed for individuals to learn tools and specific strategies to help improve brain function and memory.

Duties include: Supporting facilitator with activities, maintaining program flow, helping to set-up and clean-up the program and refreshment areas.

Days / Location:

Tuesdays September 25 to November 27, 9:30am – 11:30am, Oak Bay United Church, 1355 Mitchell Street

OR

Tuesdays September 25 to November 27, 1:00pm – 3:00pm, St. George’s Church Cadboro Bay, 3909 St. George’s Lane

Arts and Crafts Assistant

Silver Threads is looking for a volunteer to help a visually impaired knitter with their self-directed knitting projects during our Friday morning drop-in Knitting and Crafting time.

Duties Include: Helping the participant to select knitting patterns and reading them aloud so she can type them into her braille machine. Guiding her around the facility.

Days: Fridays

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm

Location: Silver Threads Victoria Centre, 2340 Richmond Road
