What a GREAT location for Seniors to play Table Tennis. Ping Pong Paul.

It is National Volunteer Week April 14th to 20th and we are recognizing some of the amazing individuals who generously give their time to support our organization.
Our theme for our Volunteer Appreciation this year is “Volunteers Weave us Together”. We worked with our own group of weavers to create a unique mug rug for all of our volunteers. The pattern was designed by leader Brenda Nicolson using the green from our Silver Threads logo as well as weaving through an actual silver thread.
All of the members of the weaving group took a turn weaving the actual fabric. Once completed they broke into teams of cutters, stitchers, edgers and finishers. Thank you to all of the weavers for creating a truly unique and practical gift for our group of 70+ hard working volunteers.

I’m using mine as a little mat for these cute mushrooms my grandson makes. Thx weavers!

Thank you to the Weavers for sharing their talents with our Volunteers. Your excellent work is appreciated!

I love my mug rug, too! It looks great on my desk 💚

Food Security is an issue we have prioritized and are addressing with the support of a team of volunteers. It starts with our volunteers working behind the scenes, pickup and delivering the produce and dry goods from the Food Share Network Warehouse. Then Cobs for our bread and baked goods. Thanks to Chris, Derrick, Don and Kayla for the heavy lifting!
Once at our Commercial Kitchen product is sorted and packed by volunteer Hitch for the Food Share Services that are held weekly at both Centres. Distribution is managed by our caring volunteers Sandy and Hitch at Saanich and Sue at Victoria.
The Silver Spoons Cafe at the Saanich Centre provides low cost lunches, and volunteer Marcus has been a gift to us for the past 30 years. At Victoria, volunteer Peggy leads a weekly Soup Social, with lively discussion over lunch.
Thank you to our team of Food Services Volunteers! We so appreciated each and everyone of you!
