- Assist with everyday digital tasks such as email, video calls, online forms, and photo sharing
- Troubleshoot common issues like forgotten passwords, app navigation, or device settings
- Encourage digital confidence by teaching simple skills at a comfortable pace
- Create a welcoming, judgment free environment where seniors feel safe asking questions
- Communicate clearly with staff about participant needs, progress, or recurring challenges
- Patience and empathy when supporting learners of all comfort levels
- Basic tech knowledge (no advanced expertise required — just everyday familiarity)
- Clear communication skills and a friendly, encouraging presence
- Reliability and consistency in attending scheduled volunteer sessions
- A passion for community connection and helping seniors stay engaged
- 1–2 hours per week, flexible based on volunteer availability
- Sessions may be one on one or small group depending on program needs

Volunteer Opportunities
One on One Computer Support
We’re looking for a warm, patient, and community minded volunteer to join our team as a One on One Computer Support. This role is all about helping older adults feel more confident, connected, and independent in today’s digital world. Volunteers will offer one on one guidance, to help troubleshoot simple tech issues that make a big difference in daily life. Locations include our Centres as well as Outreach locations, days and times are flexible.

Digital Camera Group Volunteer
Silver Threads and the Victoria Computer Club are looking for a volunteer (preference to individuals 55+) to run our digital camera group.
Duties Include:
Days / Times: 2nd Wednesday of the month, 9:30am—11:30am, and
1 photoshoot a month (times and locations vary).
