Volunteer Driver

Silver Threads Service is looking for a volunteer driver for our Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner evenings.

Duties include: Picking-up and taking-home seniors for our monthly dinners. Free dinner for drivers is provided. Drivers with sedan cars preferred. A Police Information Check and Drivers Abstract are required.

Days: 1 Wednesday per month

Time: 3:30pm—7:30pm

Location: Saanich Centre, 286 Hampton Road

Memory PLUS Volunteer

Silver Threads Service is looking for volunteers to assist the facilitator of Memory PLUS (Practice, Laughter, Useful Strategies) – a program designed for seniors to learn ways to improve brain health and memory.

Duties include: Teaching support, room set-up / take down and helping provide coffee and snack.

Days / Location:
Tuesdays, 9:00am—12:00pm, Oak Bay
OR
Tuesdays, 12:30pm—3:30pm, Cadboro Bay

Piano Accompanist Volunteer

Silver Threads Service is looking for a piano accompanist with a minimum of Grade 6 music for the Hampton Singers seniors ladies’ choir.

Duties include: Following the lead of the Choir Director; Playing a wide range of musical styles; Revising arrangements with the director as needed.

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals—Mondays, 9:30am –11:30am,
Silver Threads Saanich Centre, 286 Hampton Road

Public Performances: 2 Wednesdays a month (times and locations vary)
(Note: Choir does not rehearse June – August)
